Why would the party be suspicious of "own life" as it is called in Newspeak?

The Party would be threated and suspicious of own life because it makes you different and differences are not desirable. Individualism is frowned upon and simply NOT allowed. 

When there were no external records that you could refer to, even the outline of your own life lost its sharpness.
