Why is 2+2=5 in 1984?
2+2 is obviously 4, so I don't know why the stupid guy kept telling the Winston dude it was 5.Like.... does he know how to count?

The Party has complete control over the minds of the people. They tell society that 2+2=5, and the people don't even think about it. The society in 1984 has been trained so well that any official statement are perceived as truth without thought. The operative words....... without thought.
