I'd say that the poet Ampleforth has a pretty tough time. He sits a few cubicles away from Winston and produces "definitive texts," or garbled versions of poems that the Party has deemed ideologically offensive, but for some reason wants to retain. Poetry is a way for people to express themselves, their innermost thoughts and feelings. This, of course, is forbidden by the party.
