I thought the ending flowed well with the book. This is a thought provoking and often disturbing story. We follow Winston's attempts at feeling something mere than the numbness of his Victory Gin. His attempts at any kind of prolonged happiness are futile just as is Winston's clinging to a reality outside the Party is futile. The ending of this story seems inevitable but at the same time very thought provoking and sad.
