Why does #8 vote 'not guilty'? What is your opinion of him doing this?

He did not believe there was sufficient evidence to convict the boy. He questioned the old man's version of events as well as the lady who saw the train. He also questions the bias of some juror's against the boy's ethnicity and low social stature. Juror 8 seems to take his role seriously and is not clouded by bias.
