How does Juror 3 connect the defendant to his son?

In Act I, Juror 3 makes a speech about how this boy is just another example of “how kids are nowadays.” He speaks about his own son, with whom he had a rough relationship, and to whom he hasn’t spoken in two years, after a fight in which his son hit him.
